Apple Tart

Total Time: ~50 mins

Preparation Time: 20 mins

Cooking Time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry

  • 4-6 medium-sized Delizia Red Apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced. For a more juicy tart, the apples can be grated instead of sliced.

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla powder

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out one of the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface to fit your tart pan. Place it in the tart pan, trimming any excess. Use a fork to prick the pastry's surface.

  3. Arrange the Apples: Arrange the apple slices/grated apples in an overlapping pattern over the puff pastry.

  4. Sprinkle with Sugar, Vanilla and Cinnamon: In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, vanilla powder and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the apple slices.

  5. Roll out the remaining puff pastry sheet and place it on top of the apples filling, trimming any excess. Use a fork to prick the pastry's surface.

  6. Bake: Place the tart in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are tender.

  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the tart to cool slightly before slicing. Serve it warm, and optionally add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
